Phil Vickery will be banned for the South Africa match
Phil Vickery has been cited for his flying potato, Jean-Clude Van Damme-esque manouevre on the USA centre Paul Emerick, and it is safe to say he has about as much chance of escaping punishment as a man caught in bed with the wife of a particularly angry gorilla. Vickery says he didn't mean it, but look at that picture: trying to justify how he got his giant frame into that position by accident will prove about as convincing as a Portuguese kidnapping investigation.
This may be a blessing in disguise for Yoda Ashton as Vickery is in pretty poor form. The mobility and power of Matt Stevens will pehaps be just what the doctor ordered against the Saffers. A South African to beat the South Africans perhaps?
Not that it will make a great deal of difference though, as England are going to get mullered either way. Believe.
