Rob Andrew is a stupid mouse-faced tit, part 285
One thing that has been noticeable in the past six months or so has been the lack of Rob Andrew. This is a good thing. In fact, a lack of Rob Andrew is quite possibly the best thing in the world. So, it is doubly upsetting for England fans that not only are we having to put up with the team resembling a white army of Gepetto-built imbeciles, but the stupid mouse-faced tit has decided to resurface as well.
Rob Andrew's job, lest we forget, is to oversee elite rugby in England; to ensure that there are enough players of the required grade and a coaching structure apposite to making them the best as they can be for the national team. A big job, no doubt, and one that the Autumn has shown he is signally failing at. Is he bothered? Is he keen to take some public responsibility for the fact that, for example, beyond Riki Flutey (who was developed in another country, remember) we don't have a creative centre? No he isn't.
He's far more keen to tell the IRB that the ruck law is ruining the game - yet somehow it doesn't seem to be ruining the game for Ireland, Australia or NZ, to name three - or talking other complete nonsense about England progressing despite the fact that even a blind madman can see and deduce that they have gone backwards since the Six Nations.
Unfortunately for England, at a time when we need a leader to take responsibility and reassure us publicly of the path back to success, we have a man openly whining and deflecting all blame to rules or governing bodies, or treating us like fools.
The problem is that at his core, Andrew is too much of a political operator with a fundamental lack of the required moral minerals to do the most important job in English rugby. He fears that the current ruck law will drive away supporters, but he needs to look far closer to home for what will repel English fans.
