Chris Robshaw receives pearls of insight from Will Carling
It has emerged that Quins backrower and rookie England captain Chris Robshaw has been consulting former England captain Will Carling about leading the national team.
"Before the Scotland game he spoke about the need to appreciate how much they dislike us," Robshaw said.
"Last week he spoke to me about it being tough going to Italy," the new England skipper continued, "making sure we were ready and backing up the [Scotland] win, which is always the hardest."
But what about the Wales game, New England's toughest test so far, what wisdom and counsel does Robshaw expect the former England skipper to offer for this key clash? "I will speak to him before the Wales game", yes, yes go on! "and he will probably say a similar thing."
You can't deny that it's real, under the bonnet, first-hand, killer advice for the young England man.
Whether Carling also advised Robshaw to find a massively powerful pack, a genuinely class player to play outside him, and not to shag the current Princess of Wales we can only guess.
