RBS 6 Nations Preview: France vs Ireland, Stade de France, Sunday 15:00
This match should have been played three weeks ago, but a frozen pitch and poor planning meant both the players and the fans were forced to go home unsatisfied.
While neither side wanted a postponement it cannot be denied that, in hidsight, Ireland are probably more glad of the break than the French. Ireland had been beaten by Wales in heartbreaking fashion and had only a week to regroup ahead of a fixture they've won only once in forty years with little hope of making it two.
Ireland instead had a fortnight to nurse their depression followed by a home hit out against an Italy side so bad it's like they've been slipped Banahan Pills in their morning espresso, and now head to Paris with a confidence absent a few weeks back.
Will this change the result? No, it won't.
France look too savvy, too classy and far too playing at homey to lose this one. Ireland remain a team like an aged midget billionnaire without a supermodel girlfriend; obviously not using their resources to most efficient benefit.
B&M Prediction: France by 7
Spotter's Badge: Aurelien Rougerie is mistaken for Nick Nolte and taken to rehab during a break in play.
