Win yourself a Six Nations matchday feast with unearthed®

Chorizo-in-a-mojo-sauce2Let's be honest, not all of us can get to a stadium or a pub to watch a Six Nations match these days, so we end up settling for beer and some bland carbohydrate based snacks in the comfort of our home.

We here at the blog feel that you (and the Six Nations) deserve better food than that, so we have teamed up with unearthed®, the leading brand in great tapas and quality sharing snacks from across the Mediterranean, to give you a chance of winning something far more appetising to snack on.

The lucky winner will receive the following from the unearthed range:

- A set of unearthed's Tapas range including:

- White Bean Tapas with Manchego – tender Gigante beans in a tomato and onion sauce, topped with Manchego, parsley and chilli.

- Chorizo in Mojo Pepper Sauce (pictured, mmmmm)– unearthed® cooking chorizo has gained a bit of a cult following and here it is combined with a rich, tasty pepper sauce.

- Pork Meatballs in Chipotle Sauce – smoke-dried Chipotle peppers are one of the great flavours of Mexican cooking, combined here with meatballs for another cracking tapas dish.

- A case of unearthed® Beef Biltong  (16 packs!) – South Africa’s favourite snack and we can see why. Made with Southern African expertise and recipes in Yorkshire, these tasty strips of dry cured beef will be the things to munch when the Six Nations comes around.

- A case of unearthed® Snacking Chorizo (16 packs!) - chorizo has been one of the foodie hits of recent times and now it has been made mini and bagged up so it is easy to snack. Much more exciting than peanuts!

For more information on the unearthed story and product range, visit www.discoverunearthed.com

To win this gastronomical delight, please answer the following on topic question:  What is the name of the mountain range that separates France and Spain?

Please send your answers to editor@bloodandmud.com with "unearthed comp" as the title.  Entries close on Friday 11th February.  Good luck!

Have a chat with Keith Wood, Phil Vickery & Tim Payne and win yourself some Bushmills Irish Whiskey

Lions and international legends Phil Vickery and Keith Wood had a sit down with Wasps' Tim Payne to wax about what makes front-row men part of a special brotherhood and we've got it here on video for you to have a gawp at.

In my experience, what makes the front row a brotherhood is that they all go for a massive crap before the start of the game and stink out the entire changing room.  You'll have to watch the video to see if the pros agree with me.

This video was produced as part of the Bushmills Irish Whiskey "Bushmills Brothers" promotion and we have two bottles of the lovely stuff to give away to the reader who answers the following question:

What is the total number international caps (including the Lions) that these players have between them?

Please send your answers to this email address with 'Bushmills comp' in the title

Get your Phone App ideas flowing and win £2k and a Samsung Galaxy Portal handset

Galaxy Portal 0_2 As rugby fans we want Apps on our phones that are as glorious as the game that we follow.  Unfortunately, rugby apps that fall into this category are thinner on the ground than people who believe Rob Andrew is doing a good job and there has been little we could do about it - until now!

To accompany the launch of their latest Android powered handset the Galaxy Portal, Samsung is launching the Planet App competition, where you can submit any app ideas to them and the winning idea will not only be made a reality, but the creator (i.e. you!) will win £2,000.

To give you clever lot out there even more encouragement to get involved we have a little competition of our own.   Once you have put your idea into the Galaxy Portal site, drop us a line at this address with "Galaxy comp" in the title and you will enter a draw to win a Galaxy i5700 handset of your very own, courtesy of Samsung. Having seen, held and had a go of the handset, I can confirm it has plenty of snazz, pizazz and jizz-jazz and is well worth winning.

So get those ideas flowing.  Maybe you fancy an app that explains scrum laws, so you can understand what Jonathan Kaplan doesn't at scrum time; or one that mutes Ronan O'Gara - the possibilities are endless.

Design an app and give yourself a chance of winning £2k and a Galaxy Portal phone with Samsung

Galaxy Portal 0_2 I don't know about you, but ever since I got my latest smartphone I have been seriously disappointed with the number and range of rugby applications available.  And, not being a mobile phone software programmer, there has been little I could do about it - until now!

To accompany the launch of their latest Android powered handset the Galaxy Portal, Samsung is launching the Planet App competition, where you can submit any app ideas to them and the winning idea will not only be made a reality, but the creator (i.e. you!) will win £2k.

So get those ideas flowing.  Maybe you fancy an app that explains the ref's arm signals in a match; or one that calculates kick distance dependant on where you place a ball on the field; or maybe one that causes your phone to shout "Shut it Barnes!" every time the rotund and verbose fool appears on telly - the possibilities are endless.

Get your Chargy Bargy on and win some top prizes with O2

You should all recall the people at O2 have bringing us Chargy Bargy, a cracker of a game where you have to catch the ball and leg it as fast as you can while running into as many things as you can.  Be careful to avoid the big New Zealand forwards, though, as they kill you to death, as Mickey once told Rocky..

There are still a few weeks of the competition left, and you can still win Nintendo Wiis, Blu-ray DVD players and LCD TVs.

What’s more, four lucky winners picked at random from all O2 customers who’ve entered the competition will snatch VIP tickets to the Emirates Airline London Sevens at Twickenham for themselves and three friends.

Get playing, you have nothing to lose but your main source of income if caught by your boss.
